Description: A sigil (/ˈsɪdʒɪl/) is a type of symbol used in magic. The term usually refers to a pictorial signature of a spirit (such as an angel, demon, or deity). In modern usage, especially in the context of chaos magic, a sigil refers to a symbolic representation of the practitioner's desired outcome.

Sigils play a big part in the game as they help you banish the entity at the end of the game. I need to create 26 sigils to assign to the 26 letters of the alphabet. The origin of these sigils will date back many centuries and will be the entities native language. Aesthetic wise, they will need to be simple and clear so that you can read on the tops of the people in the cult but they also need to be different enough so that people don't get confused.

Sigils appear in many parts of history, typically associated with witchcraft and demons.

Methods of construction. A common method of creating the sigils of certain spirits was to use kameas, a special use case of magic squares—the names of the spirits were converted to numbers, which were then located on the magic square. The locations were then connected by lines, forming an abstract figure.

In this YouTube video, ‘How to Make a Sigil’ // Witchcraft 101’ she makes a sigil by writing down her intention. She then crossed out any vowel and repeated letters. With the remaining letters, she organised them onto a separate piece of paper in whichever way she felt best, with some parts overlapping and connecting, using straight lines.

To create my own sigils, I wanted to keep them simple so I started with shapes and then combined them. After drawing 100, I chose the 26 best ones making sure they weren't too similar.
