Takeaway:
With this game being a puzzle- escape game there’s a lot of things I can take inspiration from. It also incorporates a form of horror as you are being chased by your parents with potential jump scares occurring when they catch you.
There are two laptops you can access in the game, both need passwords. The way to find the password is by looking at the hint they give you with is their name+ something you need to go look for in the room. I can use this in my game to keep it immersive and realist.
Instead of giving you the year of birth they give you a photo of yourself with the year it was taken and how old you are in it so you can work it out yourself.
This is the messaging UI they use which I can take inspiration from. Instead of letter you type the messages, they instead have a ‘send a message’ button. This stops the player from being able to type what they want and instead directs them to progress through the messages correctly, guiding the correct reply
On the dad’s laptop is a list of passwords
I’ll also take inspiration from the bedroom in the game because the style and furniture.
