Rusty lakes games are 2d point and click puzzle games that revolve around sacrificing the main character(s) in order to give rebirth to an ancestor. They centre around the circle of life and sacrifice. They are all in a 2d format but some differ in how this is done. Some of them use a main menu where you select the scenes and once in it, you used side arrows to scroll along and select items, adding them to your inventory or using them. Others let you enter different rooms of a location, using arrow keys to change your viewpoint, so that you can look at all 4 walls. I like the way in which they make the puzzles work in 2d and the types of puzzles they use. Additionally, they incorporate this ‘entity’ into all their games, that at first seems scary but you discover it is just a part of the circle of life.

I will also take inspiration from their puzzles. As they are mostly done room by room, you pick up certain items to use elsewhere. Many different puzzles are shown in the game and they have influenced my puzzles I have made.
