Originally I planned on setting the game in 2007 as this would provide an obvious and nostalgic aesthetic. It would also work in my favour in terms of story line as it was a lot harder to find missing people during the earlier days of computers and the internet as they didn't have tools we have accessible now. But I decided to ditch this idea as some of the tools I planned for the laptop wouldn't have been available in 2007. Additionally, it would have became a continuity error at some point as naturally I would make things that I see around me and not consider what it would be like in 2007 so it would be difficult for me to make sure everything was correct according to the timeline.
Below I have created new mood boards to match the right aesthetics and time frame. I will use this as inspiration when creating the game room and the one below will serve as references for the objects within the room.
