I created some concept art to help show my team what the game will look like and share my vision. The essence of my game is family and therefore wanted to display this in my first drawing. I drew up a quick sketch of a family of African wild dogs cuddled together using a reference photo from online. Typically, they sleep out in the open in larger groups but instead I wanted to just draw a couple of them inside a small grass cave as this portrays intimacy and shows a proper home for the player to want to protect. I did this drawing on Procreate on my iPad primarily using a crayon like brush as to not make it too complicated and detailed. For lighting, I shaded the edges and added a spotlight like effect on the family to highlight them even though its night-time whilst also presenting a cosy and intimate vibe.

For my next concept art, I wanted to capture more of the environment, showing the vast land of the Savannah. Additionally, I wanted to show an image that resembles the game play so I drew the playable character looking ahead at the Savannah. I added a tree to the foreground to help show dimension and rough bushes in the background to really emphasise the size of the playable area. I included two similar weather types with different hues to show what the Savannah can look like at different times of the day, with one presenting a warmer orange look and the other with bright blue skies and green grass.
